
In 1832 Snow River District, or Neches River District, includes the current Tyler County area. The area was originally organized in 1/22/1841 from part of Liberty County as Menard Judicial District, not the same area as the later Menard County. Its territory included most of what is now Tyler County and part of the future Hardin County. In 1842 Town Bluff became the temporary County Seat. Woodville was the county seat since 1846.
